MAYOR, ANGOON Sharing. He added his support for
statewide taxes. Mr. Kookesh voiced
continued support for Head Start. He
added that Angoon supports an alcohol
tax. Mr. Kookesh testified in support of

substance abuse programs.

drugs are affecting him negatively. He
voiced his frustration with the system
and his life. He stressed that this is
enough money.

The economy in this area is over-
stressed. The reduction will have a
magnitude of effects. There are many
isolated communities and this is our
road.

cuts will affect the health of the

communities. He stressed that it will be
devastating and the funding needs to be

KOTZEBUE reductions that will affect the village
areas. Budget cuts are not budget cuts
but rather they are service cuts. Those
cuts will dramatically affect families
and the quality of services will suffer.
She urged increasing revenues for the
State.

RUTTENBERG, KOTZEBUE mental health programs. He noted that
there had been six suicides in the past
few months. He addressed concern with the
elimination of the suicide prevention
from the Governor's budget.
